Before you begin
- SOK 48 V rack batteries with RJ45 RS485 communication ports.
- If you have several batteries, their address switches set (each pack its own address).
- A USB charger, and Wi-Fi at the battery (a cheap router or a phone hotspot is enough at a cabin).
1. Choose the port
SOK rack batteries have RJ45 ports for communication. Use a free RS485 port, usually on the last battery of the chain. Keep any existing link to your inverter as it is.
2. Plug in
Connect the supplied cable from that port to the box. Power the box with USB-C. The screen turns on.
Only connect to communication ports. Never touch the battery terminals or breaker with the box or its cable.
3. Wi-Fi
Join the box’s setup network from your phone, pick your Wi-Fi, set a password for the dashboard.
4. Tell it how many batteries
Open http://moniwatt.local, enter the number of packs and their addresses. Readings start within seconds.
No network at the cabin?
The screen on the box works with no Wi-Fi at all. Add a small router later and the dashboard and alerts come to life.
Something not right?
- No data: check the cable is in an RS485 port, not CAN.
- A pack missing: its address is not in the list you entered.
- Still stuck: send us the diagnostics page and a photo of the ports.
